Commissioner Lehman, during his presentation at the Connecticut Technology Council, pinpointed several initiatives he’s willing to implement according to governor Ned Lamont‘s program.
Regarding foreign direct investment (FDI), he mentioned that Connecticut Economic Resource Center (CERC) continues to be the spearhead of the government initiatives towards attracting companies to Connecticut. They are taking measures to be more effective as per Department of Economic Community Development new guidelines.
The first priority though will be growing existing Connecticut businesses by, among others, improving the State’s attractiveness- infrastructure, some incentives such as tax breaks (but less and less money).
The good news four Brazilian companies willing to expand abroad setting shop in Connecticut is the industry synergy mentioned and the work in progress of enhancing the state’s infrastructure.
